Common Causes of T-Bone Auto Accidents

Also known as side-impact or broadside collisions, T-bone accidents describe collisions in which the front of one vehicle comes into contact with the side of another vehicle to create a “T” shape. Although more and more cars are being equipped with side-impact safety equipment, there is generally little protection available to the occupants of the vehicle receiving the blow from the side.

The severity of a T-bone auto accident depends on several variables, including the rate of speed of both of the vehicles involved in the collision and the crashworthiness of the automobile being hit from the side. The most common causes of T-bone accidents include:
